The Plumas County Library has announced that its Quincy branch will kick off a fresh series of introductory technology classes beginning Wednesday, September 2. The program is designed for adults who want to build confidence with computers, whether they are starting from scratch or need a refresher on everyday digital skills.
The sessions will run through the fall, meeting on a regular weekly schedule. Organizers say the curriculum covers essential topics such as using a mouse and keyboard, navigating the internet, setting up and managing email accounts, and understanding basic file storage. Later classes will introduce word processing and online safety tips, helping participants avoid scams and protect personal information.
Library staff emphasize that the classes are small and hands-on, allowing plenty of time for questions and individual practice. No prior experience is required, and all equipment is provided. The goal is to make technology less intimidating and more useful for daily tasks like paying bills online, keeping in touch with family, or searching for local services.
Interested community members are encouraged to contact the Quincy branch directly to register or to confirm the exact start time. Space is limited, so early sign-up is recommended. The library also notes that future sessions may be added based on demand, and they are open to suggestions for other tech topics people would like to see covered.
