Nocera has taken a controlling stake in QMAX Technology, a Taiwan-based memory and storage solutions provider, as part of its broader push into AI infrastructure. The company acquired a 30% interest in QMAX through a variable interest entity structure, a move that gives Nocera access to QMAX's established position as an authorized distribution channel for Micron and Crucial memory products.
To complete the deal, Nocera issued 300,000 shares of restricted common stock to Chien-Hua Tseng, who holds the equity interest being transferred. The transaction is structured to bring Nocera into QMAX's existing network of vendor authorizations and sales qualifications, which cover DRAM modules, server memory, and solid-state storage.
The acquisition is aimed at giving Nocera a foothold in the memory supply chain, a critical component for AI workloads that depend on high-bandwidth and high-capacity storage. By aligning with QMAX, Nocera gains access to distribution relationships that could support future AI hardware deployments and data center projects.
QMAX has built its business around supplying memory solutions to enterprise and server markets, and its authorization as a Micron and Crucial channel is a key asset. For Nocera, the deal represents a step toward integrating memory and storage capabilities into its AI infrastructure strategy, rather than relying solely on third-party suppliers.
The company said the investment aligns with its focus on building out the physical and technical layers needed to support AI computing. Financial terms beyond the stock issuance were not disclosed. Nocera expects the relationship to open up new opportunities in both the Taiwan market and broader Asia-Pacific region, where demand for AI-ready hardware continues to grow.
